MALAYSIA ANTARCTIC RESEARCH
PROGRAM
The Malaysian Antarctic
Research Program is run by the National Antarctic Research Centre which is a Department of
the University of Malaya situated in Kuala Lumpur. The program has regularly sent
scientists to work at Scott Base along with the New Zealand Antarctic programme. In some
years Malaysia has also sent scientists to Australian and other bases.

The University of Malaya
celebrated its centenary in 2005 with the issue of a pair of stamps and a special
pictorial postmark on the 9th of June 2005.
Later that month (27th to the 30th June
2005) the University held a special Antarctic Research Seminar. |
