WORLDTEL
WorldTel was an Auckland based company related to Global Communication Systems Pty Ltd of Australia. Their cards indicate they can be used to make voice, fax or email calls. The issue date and order of the cards shown below is uncertain but as accurate as can be deduced. Another company called WorldTel NZ Ltd commenced issuing phonecards in 2004 and these can be seen below. it is not known if these two companies have any relationship to each other. |
A set of 4 cards for the 1996 Olympics featuring Danyon Loader in $20, $20, $20 and $50 values was advertised in some publications but to date no actual cards have been sighted and there is some doubt that the series was actually issued. |

The $20 overprinted value was issued by Comunica after they took over the WorldTel company |
WorldTel ceased trading in the middle of 1999 and their business was taken over by Comunica Creative Communications. Another company called WorldTel NZ Ltd appeared on the scene in 2004 with the issue of its first phonecards. It is not known if this company has any relationship to the earlier company called World Tel. |
