TAKANASHI GLOBAL CONNEXIONS

This company established in 1998 by Yukiko Takanashi and Robin Oliver entered the New Zealand phonecard market in 1999 with the release of their Hello Japan $50 card.  Their original cards had telephone services supplied by Comunica and some cards with Comunica branding were sold by Takanashi notably series for Migrants and students. these cards can be seen on our page for Comunica Communications here.

It seems that business was very slow until late in 2000 when Takanashi signed an agreement with TelstraSaturn allowing much more competitive rates to be offered. By the end of  2000 the company had released a total of 55,000 cards onto the market.
