The "Akademik Boris Petrov" is the Russian ice strengthened vessel shown above at Ushuaia on the 14th of January 2000. She has undertaken several Antarctic cruises from the South of America and operates under charter to Peregrine Adventures. Her name in English appears on the side of the vessel as shown in the picture at left. |

The above cover has been posted at the Ukrainian base Vernadsky and carried back to Ushuaia in Southern Argentina for posting. It is backstamped on arrival in Christchurch on 24th January 2000.
