The "Delphin" is a modern cruise vessel operated by Dolphin Maritime Ltd , based in Istanbul, Turkey. She was originally built at Wartsila in Turku, Finland and entered service on January 15th, 1975. She was originally the "Belorussiya" and then the "Kazakhstan" between 1993 and 1996. She carries 640 passengers and has 250 crew.

Note: this cover differs to the previous one in that it is franked with Falkland Islands stamps. It had departed from Port Stanley in the Falklands two days previously on the 13th of January 2000.

The picture at right shows the "Delphin" berthed at Lyttelton on 27th Febraury, 2000.
The vessel was in the course of a 176 day world cruise started on the 14th December 1999 and finishing on the 6th June 2000. Shevisited South American ports and then crossed the South Pacific to tour New Zealand and then Australia.
