LORD OF THE RINGS

In December 2002 the second of the "Lord of The Rings" films based on the J.R.R. Tolkien books was released world wide. This movie called "The Two Towers" was filmed entirely in New Zealand by the New Zealand director Peter Jackson.

On the 4th of December 2002 New Zealand Post issued a series of postage stamps with designs derived from scenes from the movie. The issue consists of 6 basic stamp designs but each design comes in both gummed and self-adhesive versions which differ considerably. The gummed versions also come in individual souvenir sheets.

Note: A set of 9 Lord of the Rings phonecards was issued in New Zealand by TelstraClear in December 2002. Eight of the nine cards were put into general circulation but the complete set is only available in a limited edition folder which we can supply for US$150. To see all 9 designs click here
